Raise the Bar and The Hope Heart Institute came together in 2007 to fight the #1
killer of women: Heart Disease. It kills more women per year than all cancers COMBINED.
Since 2007, our program has helped more than 60 women significantly lower their
risk of heart disease by offering tools to lower their scary numbers like cholesterol,
blood pressure, weight, and stress level. It’s also helped them lower other numbers
like the time it takes them to walk one mile, or complete a sprint triathlon.
In 2010 Raise the Hope will help women find improved health the following ways :
- Each woman will be monitored regularly by physician who is on the staff of RTH. He
will keep an eye on your health, improving(!) level of fitness, and be a regular
educational resource on all topics related to your heart health
- A staff nutritionist will be on board to help the group develop an ENJOYABLE and
healthy way to eat!
- 2 certified trainers and coaches from Raise the Bar will provide personalized training
plans to help you complete a few goal events during the 2010 season. These events
could range from 1 mile fun runs/walks to a triathlon - those are choices you’ll
make together.
- The combined staff will help develop a plan or “Prescription” to help you lower your
risk of heart disease!
- We’ll tap on the ENORMOUS number of resources available to us through the Hope Heart
Institute - an organization that’s setting the national standard in cardiovascular
research and education
- Raise the Bar benefits will be available to all RTH gals - training help, discounts,
and a strong community of enthusiastic people to befriend.
Raise the Bar and the Hope Heart Institute are invested in the health of our community
and our friends - and that is why we created Raise the Hope: To provide the tools
and resources necessary to improve our health and live long lives to enjoy our children,
grandchildren, jobs, friends, and each other!
